Moss Bluff is a community located North of Lake Charles, Louisiana in Calcasieu Parish covering roughly 15 square miles.

Population (2010 Census) is 20,551, and continues to grow!

The Ward 1 Economic Development Board is appointed by local elected officials and charged with promoting Economic Growth and development in our community. This is a voluntary board.

The Board meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of the Month at the Moss Bluff Public Library, 261 Parish Road, in Moss Bluff, at 6:15 PM.  Meetings are open to the public.

The Board encourages new business to schedule a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Board.

Calcasieu Parish Police Jury held a ribbon cutting on the new River Bluff Park November 2, 2017.  The beautiful park located along the Calcasieu River completes phase 2 of the River Bluff Project.  Phase 1 was the upgrade and expansion of the boat launch next to the playground area that was officially opened.  Future phases include an event center/community pavilion and raised walkways through the marshy area along the river.  Please see the photo gallery page for more pictures of this beautiful addition to our community.
On December 4th, 2014 the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury voted unanimously to place ordinances on the COMMERCIAL PROPERTY along the main corridors through Moss Bluff.  These include Highway 171, Parish Road, North Perkins Ferry Road and Highway 378 (Sam Houston Jones Parkway).  The Ward One Economic Development Board supports these ordinances and believe that they will enhance commercial development in our community, raise personal property value and preserve the pride that our citizens have in our community.  Existing businesses are grandfathered in, so there is no hardship for our longstanding businesses to endure to bring their property up to code.  This ordinance does not put any restrictions on residentially zoned property.  These ordinances went into effect January 1, 2015.  A copy of the 6 page document in its entirety can be seen below.
